lets remember the enemies of thanksgiving. Were told to be sober & vigilant. We must always be on the offensive! The best defense is a good offense. The last few blogs we have focused on the power of thanksgiving. It keeps us in the will of God, it ushers in the miracle of multiplication and keeps our peitition in the presence of the throne. Isint it any wonder the devil works hardcore attempting to get us out of it. In the last blog we talked about one he uses much of the time, complaining. The next one is comparison. we live in a society that loves to measure up. None of us are cheap carbon copies, we've been created fearfully & wonderfully. When we begin to compare & contrast, thoughts begin to come saying.. Oh if I only had their body, if i only had their money, if I only had their house, spouse, job ect... the bible tells us Comparing ourselves among ourselves is not wise(2 Cor 10:12) It leads down the poisonous pathway of jealousy envy & root bitterness. I heard it said "when were green with envy, were ripe for trouble" How true is that? God is no respector of persons, but is a respector of PRINCIPLES! When were willing to make his precepts our pleasure all these things will be added. Third is conceit. Pride will prevent us from giving thanks to God and will lead to our downfall & destruction. There is a world of difference b/w confidence vs conceit. Some people mistake those that are so totally confident in Christ and his word and that our fully persuaded that hes able to keep those things commited unto him as conceit. This is not true. We are conceitful when we begin to think we've had something to do with it & do not recognize the source as the word. This is the disposition thats like a dungish drop in the nostrils of God. Fourth is corruption. When were ensnared by perpetual & patternized sin, we'll not be thankful but thoughtless. It darkens our heart & alienates us from the life of God. Fifth, Calculation. Are you suffering from paralysis by analysis? Stop it! Most of the things God is doing and will do in your life wont ever be able to put on paper. God said through Isiah My ways are higher than your ways as the Heavens are above the Earth(Isiah 55:8,9) quit thinking & START trusting! Finally competition. Its what brought about the first recorded murder in human history. Cain was upset that his brother Abels sacrifice was excepted, while his was rejected. the bible says that his countenance fell & He became VERY WROTH(Gen 4:5) Can competition do that Today? A-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y. Competition can be completely positive as we allow it to be like fuel in the tank that drives us to being the best we can be, but when it effects our love walk it becomes a problem.
